New Tiny Whoop FuriousFPV MOSKITO 70 (FRSKY) not going so well!

Well, I thought I had the great idea to learn to fly FPV with a tiny whoop. Which is just a small drone so I got one. Thinking that I can now fly FPV in the house and that will allow me to learn so much faster because I can fly anytime. The drone is only 70 mm but still has all the software and camera like the 210 mm.

This little guy should fly similar to the 210 mm racing drone. If nothing else it would give me the ability to fly FPV in the house. so I went through the configuration of setting it up, binding it to the radio setting all the trim and betaflight settings only for it to act crazy. I have been in talks with the Furious FPV tech support. I have tried flashing the flight controller with 3 different versions of betaflight. When I flash 2 of them the receiver will not communicate with the drone. I get telemetry back from the drone but I cannot send it any commands from the sticks or switches. I go back to the firmware I see on their site and the receiver works but it cannot be controlled. The throttle will go full when armed and you slightly move the throttle up. Here is a video of what happens. I keep a hold of it in the video just to demonstrate that it seems to stop when holding the prop guards but goes full-on nuts when holding it from the bottom. It appears that the gyro is trying to adjust something but just spirals out of control before it can. I am hoping that if nothing else Furious FPV send me a replacement that works.

I have posted in the local facebook groups to see if anyone else has had any issues with this drone. I have not received any replies as of this posting. I think I might have gotten a bad one. I did notice that the negative VTX wire had come unsoldered so I soldered it back on hoping it was somehow causing the issues but it did not help. That also required me to have to disassemble the little guy to get to the wire. I am hoping that this all works out but it sure is NO fun to get something and look forward to using it only for it to not work. I will keep update once I have some more info and/or a resolution to the issues. I have several other products from Furious FPV that I have not even used yet. I sure hope they function when I go to use them. I went by several peoples recommendations when purchasing these so we will see. I have seen several reviews of this tiny whoop online that everyone loves it and its the greatest thing since sliced bread. That is what I went by when looking for one and so far it has not worked out so well….  LOL

Well until next time…I hope you return from “The Dot of Despair!”
